Special deals to help the UK's funeral industry

Thermal insulation specialist Seymour Manufacturing International (SMI) has launched a special deal to help its contacts in the funeral industry.

We are offering flexible mortuary units, capable of holding 6-8 bodies, or a larger design for 8-10 bodies, at exceptionally competitive prices, direct from our Telford factory.

SMI is the inventor of Tempro, which remains unchallenged as the world’s thinnest and most thermally-efficient material of its kind.

Director Jill Seymour said: “Our products have been used to create flexible mortuary units for hospitals, funeral directors and the military – and we have increased production in recent months.

“We adapt our tried-and-tested product range for many purposes, and these include flexible mortuary units, and thermal dividers.”

The new deal includes a complete unit, with solid roof, track, runners, curtains, pelmet and sweeps, as well as Track-Rack spine board holders and a new evaporator unit capable of maintaining temperatures of at least +4C.

SMI chairman Brian Seymour said: “This is a more than special package deal, while stocks last, which we hope will help the funeral industry at this difficult time.”

For larger storage requirements, the company has also manufactured a huge inflatable temperature-controlled dome measuring 7m x 6m, with a total capacity of approximately 90 cubic metres.

Mr Seymour said: “We would be delighted to talk to customers who may be interested in finding out more about this product, including its detailed specification, and potential uses.”

Meanwhile, supermarkets are reporting a spiralling demand for chilled space since the Covid-19 lockdown, and this is another area the SMI team has been assisting with.

SMI is using one of its most recent anti-bacterial innovations, Bio-Gard, to enrich its range of strip curtains, doors and thermal windows.

Bio-Gard clear strip curtains are intended to work in ambient areas, where bacteria can grow quickest, and have undergone nearly a decade of testing to comply with globally-recognised environmental standards.

It has been proven to kill notorious strains including MRSA, E.coli, Salmonella, Listeria, Pseudomonas Aeruginosa, Legionnaire’s Disease, plus other lesser known illness-causing pathogens.
