A Telford manufacturer has reaffirmed its commitment to local causes after more than doubling its charitable donations over the past year.
Seymour Manufacturing International (SMI), based on Stafford Park, is renowned for its support of local organisations and good causes, and is continuing its charitable efforts.
Managing director Jill Seymour said: “We know finances are difficult for everyone at the moment, but our ethos has always been to support causes where we believe we can change people’s situations and help make things easier, and we are dedicated to continuing this work in the coming months.”
SMI has backed a wide variety of groups over the years including dance troupes, Macmillan, Severn Hospice, football groups and charity toy drop motorcycle rides.
It has also supported Primal Instincts, the Telford-based charity providing safe spaces for men, providing a hamper and cash support for its first charity dinner. Members of the group are pictured here during a visit to the SMI offices.
One of SMI’s most high-profile causes has been backing Circus Starr – a troupe that visits the Telford area as part of its nationwide tour where they bring together the very best in circus talent from around the world to stage 148 animal-free shows every year.
The events have been running for over 35 years, and are designed to be inclusive performances with tickets free to children who are disabled, vulnerable, under-privileged or who have additional learning needs.
SMI has regularly pledged its support to the Telford shows by donating funds to cover the cost of tickets for local children.
Jill said: “We are always delighted to be able to support the shows which provide a wonderful opportunity for families to enjoy themselves in an environment that is safe and understanding.
“We were very impressed with Circus Starr’s approach and ethos, and their commitment to performing shows that were accessible and comfortable for everyone.”
Seymour Manufacturing is open to supporting organisations and individuals both locally and all over the UK who need support wherever they can.
SMI specialises in the manufacture of thermal insulated products and has helped some of the world’s largest and most recognisable brands to save energy and reduce costs.
Clients include all major supermarkets, major logistics companies, food manufacturers and a wider range of different industries including the NHS and Ministry of Defence.
