Double delight as we retain our accreditations

Thermal insulation specialists at a Telford manufacturing firm are celebrating after achieving two prestigious industry accreditations.

Seymour Manufacturing International (SMI) is renowned for its ‘thermal protection perfection’ range which helps to maintain cold temperatures and save energy.

And now the company has successfully passed its annual ISO 9001 audit with the assessors praising its ‘good level of customer focus’ and its ‘robust and effective processes’.

Accounts and quality officer Gemma Elsmore-Roberts said: “We are delighted to have successfully achieved this accreditation for another year. It’s testimony to the hard work our entire team has put in that we’ve once again been recognised for our customer-focused approach.”

The report said a site tour of the SMI headquarters at Stafford Park was conducted and ‘good controls were seen throughout’, and that ‘product quality was excellent’.

It continued: “The organisation was seen to be forward thinking, with a strategic approach being applied to the business and improvements were seen to come to fruition. A good level of commitment and compliance was evident during the audit and no non-conformances were identified.”

ISO 9001 is an international standard that sets out the requirements for a quality management system. It helps organisations of all sizes and sectors to improve their performance, meet customer expectations and demonstrate their commitment to quality.

The requirements of the process define how to establish, implement, maintain and continually improve an organisation’s management system.

SMI has also achieved accreditation with SafeContractor following a separate audit. It assures customers that the company meets all the standards and regulations they would look for.

Compliance means an organisation meets the standards that matter most, from health and safety and sustainability to ethical behaviour. The SafeContractor scheme aims to take the pain out of compliance and help organisations and businesses to protect their people, their operations and the planet.

“Our people are our key assets and we take our responsibilities to our staff – and to our customers – extremely seriously,” said operations manager Kirsty Murrell. “To have been approved by SafeContractor once again this year is excellent news and we’re very proud that our efforts are paying off.”
