Tailor-made solution developed for school canteen

Seymour Manufacturing International has adapted its award-winning thermal technology to create a tailor-made storage solution for a Wiltshire school.

Hardenhuish School in Chippenham asked for SMI’s support in reducing energy consumption from counter-top food and drink display chillers in their canteen.

The 11-18 co-educational comprehensive school is set in the parkland of the former Hardenhuish Manor, with a reputation locally and nationally as a high performing academy.

Ross Clarke, SMI’s southern sales manager, said: “It was a pleasure working with the school to develop this new concept, which has now been installed.

“It means the school can now benefit from the amazing performance of Tempro®, SMI’s unique lightweight insulation material with exceptional thermal properties.

“Tempro® is already used across all our product solutions, but it’s always great to develop a new solution for a customer.”

The school’s catering manager Mark Langley said: “The product is being used for our cold cabinet, as we didn't have any way of keeping the fridges at temperature when not in use.

“The product developed for us by SMI means we no longer have to keep emptying the fridge when it is not in use.”

“Ross was very good from the outset, taking us through all the options. I would definitely use this company again.”
