Thermal insulation specialists at a Telford firm have been toasting the success of their growing partnership with Britain’s oldest brewery.

The team from Seymour Manufacturing International have been working with Shepherd Neame Brewery, which has around 300 pubs, hotels and inns across London and the South East.

SMI sales director Ross Clarke said the ongoing partnership was progressing extremely well with nearly 170 pubs already having their facilities completely transformed - and plans progressing to complete even more installations in the coming months.

“It has been great to work with Shepherd Neame who have invested in our renowned Cold Stop Curtains and other Tempro thermal panels of various shapes and sizes in their cellars and restaurants,” he said.

“Our products are designed to help customers save energy and therefore save money on their bills and Shepherd Neame have benefited from a wide range of equipment that has been tailor-made to suit their specific requirements.

Head of beer quality and dispense services at Shepherd Neame, Ian Barsby, said the partnership with SMI had been a huge success.

“The process is now well-established where I meet with the SMI team, and we complete site surveys at each of the venues to be fitted out – generally between 20 and 30 pubs in each phase.

“We then work out a time plan so the engineers can visit each pub and install the thermal insulation equipment that has really helped to save us money on a grand scale.

“We have been totally impressed by the expertise the SMI team have shown and the quality of their products, and with the advice and support they continue to give us as we continue the ongoing programme of installation.”

Shepherd Neame is based in Faversham and is an independent family business recognised as Britain’s oldest brewer. It can trace its history back as far as 1698 and its history of brewing on its grounds extends back even further.
